An awesome invention that substantially reduces pond maintenance. The Cleansweep ™ Skimmer allows the pump to sit inside its walls and skim surface debris from the pond as it operates. All you need to do is empty the catch bag and periodically wash the filter pad. Depending on the amount of surface debris your pond has you can spend as little as five minutes a month cleaning your skimmer. An automatic water fill valve and overflow pipe can also be added to this unit further reducing maintenance
The BIOFALLS® is a biological filter and waterfall in one. By combining these two functions into one unit you get the functionality of a biological filter with the beauty of a waterfall.
Fish, such as Koi and goldfish, can be successfully kept, and even bred, in water that is only two feet deep as far north as Minnesota. The activity and color add to the appeal of the watergarden. Fish also support the ecosystem and reduce pond maintenance.
Design plant pockets into the base of your pond and you will eliminate unsightly plant containers. Plant pockets, around 6 inches deep and filled with soil, promote health in plant development by allowing the roots to spread through surrounding gravel, unlike containerized plants, which can quickly become root-bound.
A strong 45-mil EPDM liner is the best choice for most pond installations. Unlike concrete, it is easy and inexpensive to install and won’t crack. When covered with stone, it has a 40 year life expectancy. If a leak ever were to occur, a simple inner-tube kit can make it as good as new.
A woven needle punched underlayment forms a soft padding for the liner.
Marginal plants can be planted directly in the gravel. Their roots will spread throughout the gravel, cleaning the pond by using nutrients and growing vigorously.
Rocks and gravel are an integral part of any pond ecosystem. Rocks and gravel reduce pond maintenance by reducing pond muck build up. Rocks and gravel in a pond are also beautiful to look at, prevent UV rays from reaching the liner, protect the liner from damage from sharp objects and serve as a ballast during high ground water conditions.
Aquaclearer bacteria naturally balances the pond and String Algae Buster breaks down long string algae growing in the pond.
